It’s funny how one thing can lead to another. I found this cool website from another totally unrelated (to aviation) search which led me to Ito World and their FlightRadar24. Here’s one of their videos. Not nearly as impressive as Aaron Koblin’s Flight Patterns, but a different (and appears to me, static) 3-D representation of all of the aircraft in Europe’s airspace in 24-hour period.
Seriously, though, if you’re into serious eye candy for visualization of data, check out the first link for Information Aesthetics. You’re bound to find something to tickle your fancy!
